Dear Warrior Shifter Reader,
Please enjoy this excerpt from The Warrior Shifter series. This is being made available only through the exclusive link in my newsletter, as a thank you to my subscribers for helping me get these stories into the world. Every review, post like, save, share, comment, page read, and email open goes a very long way in helping me grow as an author—and in allowing me to bring more stories like these into the world. Your support truly means everything.
These lore pages are extremely important to me. Each book contains a lore section, and each one builds on the last as the world continues to expand throughout the series. The lore is meant to give you deeper insight into the world-building and the heart of it all, which is especially evident in the section titled “A Note on the Zodiac” below.
Thank you again for everything—eternally grateful.

Reader's Guide to Zodiac Shadows. A Book of Soul Contracts, Ancestral Magic, and Transformation.

♦ Soul Contract Record: Sasha Moreno
Entered under the Blood Moon of Yaya, as spirit became first flesh. Marked by Aries at Ascension Gate I.
♦ Welcome to The Shadows
You may not remember your first life. Most don't. But the stars do. Your soul carries echoes, those memories of choices, of pain, of power left buried. This book, Zodiac Shadows, begins with a whisper: You've been here before.
♦ Your Astral Blueprint: The Natal Chart
Your natal chart is the map of your Soul Contract—the cosmic design drawn at the moment of your birth.
♦ Sasha's destiny is marked by rare placements:
- North Node in Scorpio – fated transformation.
- Black Moon Lilith in Pisces – psychic sensitivity, ancestral burden.
These alignments mark her as a warrior and gatekeeper in Zol Stria. And a target.
♦ A Note on the Zodiac
You'll see familiar signs in this series: Aries, Scorpio, Pisces. Not because Greek mythology owns the constellations, but because those are the names we were given. Colonizers renamed the stars. They mapped the heavens in Latin, overwriting the ancestral meanings carried by Indigenous peoples.
But the stars themselves? They are still speaking. And your soul remembers the ancient ways.
The Zodiac is where worlds merge. Although the Zodiac is a celestial, universal language, myth has a way of overlaying ancient truth. Behind Aries burns Xiuhtecuhtli, the Fire Lord of the ancient Nahua people, God of warriors and flame, whose turquoise light marked the beginning of time. Where Pisces now rests, Atabey (ah-ta-BEY), the TaĂno goddess of the spirit ocean, moonlight, and the sacred waters of creation, watches silently from her place among the stars.
The Zodiac is made of constellations, yes—but every culture has read them differently. Some interpretations were erased entirely. Those of us who still feel the meaning in the wind... who see our truths in the stars... and whose blood pulses with memories, feel disoriented. Lost.
Like a piece of us is missing, although the world insists we are whole. But we are not. The only access we have to our ancient truths is in our dreams—where our memories can't be replaced. Listen to the whispers of the wind. Your truth is always calling, just as it called to Sasha.
♦ The Gates of the Zodiac
There are twelve Gates scattered across Earth, one for each Zodiac sign. They sit at ley line convergence points, where spirit energy bleeds through. Ley lines are invisible conduits of celestial energy where raw magic flows just beneath the Earth's surface, connecting sacred sites and places of magical significance. Where ley lines intersect, the veil between worlds thins—these are the points where the Gates of the Zodiac are located. Ancient civilizations, like the Nazca in Peru, were masters at channeling and understanding their power. In Sasha's world, ley lines are the arteries of zol itself.
When Sasha dreams of a crimson arch crowned with the Aries glyph, rising from the sea, she is not dreaming. She is being called.
♦ The Magician and The Shaman
In the Western tradition, the Magician symbolizes control, manifestation, and mastery. But for Sasha, true power lies with the Shaman—an older archetype from ancestral traditions, tied to transformation, soul-walking, and the merging of worlds. To complete her awakening, Sasha must seek the Shaman. But what is lost, doesn't always want to be found.
♦ The Chakras: Pathways of Power
There are seven major energy centers in the body. When these chakras open, the soul expands. Though the term "chakra" is from Vedic tradition, the body's energy system is universal. We use this language because we were never taught our own.
The body's sacred alignment is a truth recognized across many ancient cultures. The TaĂno, like other Indigenous peoples, believed in spiritual currents flowing through the body, linking us to nature, to spirit, and to ancestral memory.
In this Codex, we use the word "chakra" not to claim the Vedic tradition as our own, but because it is the most accessible word.
Root – Grounding
Sacral – Emotion
Solar Plexus – Power
Heart – Love
Throat – Truth
Third Eye – Sight
Crown – Spirit
These seven centers are the portals into your spirit. To heal them is to remember. To awaken them is to own your path, as written by the stars.
♦ Fragments of the Zol (Soul)
Zodiac Shadows is the beginning of Sasha's awakening. You may find echoes of your own awakening within these pages.
